Umm, did you forget to actually write something in reply? I don't see
anything...

Or...wait...aaah, I see what you might be implying...allow me to
explain:

The terms used for punctuation marks are not always the same between
the US and the UK...for instance, in the UK: "#" is a "hash", "£" is a
"pound" and all of "( [ { } ] )" are "brackets"...the implication of
the word "brackets" colloquially over here, at least, is
"parentheses" - "( )" - and not "[ ]" ("square brackets")...

Hence, if you were posting thinking that the two quotes above were
contradictory from me, then I do apologise if I created a confusion by
using British presumptions of what "brackets" means colloquially...

That is, presuming you were quoting me without comment to imply there
was a contradiction...lacking any comments from you, I just can't tell
if you actually just forgot to add your reply, hitting "send"
prematurely...or whether you were attempting some sort of sarcasm
(which doesn't actually work, once you account for the fact that I
speak British English, which isn't always the same as American
English...though, granted, I do apologise as I know enough
"Americanisms" that I should have written it in an unambigous way so
as not to risk the confusion and that's my fault for not doing so
there)?

Beth :)
