Yeah; Joss Whedon - the creator - really got it all right...humour
without being too silly, serious without being pretenious and
delibrately doing everything backwards from the established wisdom and
getting it so right is not only creative, bold but requires a lot of
skill because that could have so easily backfired, if he hadn't known
what he was doing...
Oh, just _totally ignore_ the film...that was just crap...apparently,
Mr.Whedon has said in interviews that the Hollywood execs did their
old thing of interfering and insisting this happens and that
happens...he himself thinks it's crap too...which is why he went to
getting the TV series made because he knew that TV is more tolerant of
people doing weird things and would more or less leave him
alone...which actually worked amazingly because even when Buffy's
ratings dropped low, the TV company interestingly did not do what they
always do and immediately cancel it...seems that one or two of the
decision makers were fans of the show too and just said "fudge the
ratings...I want to know what happens next" and let him carry on
through until he himself decided to end it...

Interesting; Not to want to be "inciting" or anything but the EU is
supposed to have totally unrestricted trade between member
countries...it's quite possible that they are actually breaking the
law in doing so...it's happened before where some company does
something for a while and then it's taken to the European courts and
it turns out they were breaking the law all along...
There was recently a case, in fact, where it was discovered that a
holiday company was charging different rates for different
countries...and this has been deemed to be a breach of EU trade laws
because it does specifically state "there may NOT be any
discrimination" with regard to nationality in trade...so, if this is
not being uniformly applied to all EU countries, then on that previous
ruling, they _would be_ breaking the law...

I wish they'd get rid of that "region" nonsense because, truth is, the
professional pirates aren't even slowed down - let alone stopped - by
that nonsense but all it does is harm their own sales because you
can't go buying DVDs in other countries...
