I think you were quoting Alex and he was quoting me...er something of
that sort...anyway, you were responding to something I said and your
response was directed at Alex. And, yes, it is a stolen identity in
the sense that it was probably an Alex post that 'clued me in' that it
was your inaccuracies that gave me a bad feeling about your posts [I
had originally bought-in without question because I try to be a loyal
fan ;-) of your writing, but I had trouble digesting some of the food
until Alex made me realize it wasn't food at all] so I adopted the
tactic of editifying and clarifying the problems in your posts so that
a passing reader may not be "lead astray" into unfirm territory.

I am sorry for my trite postings contributing to your feelings being
hurt. I can imagine you believe we are attacking you because we don't
like you or that we think you are some sort of wacky retard -- but
this is not the case AT ALL! A number of your posts (especially when
you talk about ASM language issues) are overflowing with evidence that
you are intelligent, knowledgable, well-read, grounded, and sane.
[Maybe a little bit warpped, but then, aren't we all? ;-) Otherwise
we wouldn't be visiting this NG.] And, I can't speak for the rest of
the gang, but I'm willing to bet they all like you -- even if they do
give you a jab now and then. Well, heck, you're a big girl...can't
you take a little verbal abuse? You certainly don't balk at dishing
it out. I know my writing tends toward a tight style...being concise
and I only enrich it with flowery politenesses and decorations when
I'm in the mood. So I do accept the blame for creating, perhaps, a
harsh "atmosphere" in these threads. But, there has been plenty of
good weather here lately, so I am tempted to just post trite, loaded
comments and then run outside to "fly my kite." And besides, what
makes NGs so interesting to visit is the lively discussion and
flame-wars that go on. So, do you really want us to quit posting and
just let you do all the typing (so, as queen of your domain, you can
teach us "unthinking" followers the evil ways of the world)? Or do
you want to learn about these subjects along with us?

Well, sorry to make this short and sorry I'm not responding to the
entire post, but, I've gotta run while it is still light outside.

If you find something in here that makes you feel bad, please don't
take it to mean that there is any love lost between us. You are now
my favorite science-fiction author and I am contemplating removing the
stinking, rotting cadaver of the former, much esteemed Isaac Asimov
from my living-room mantle and tossing him in the dumpster (can't
recycle him because my landlord might not take kindly to me plowing a
garden in place of the large, manicured lawn).
