Which means they would, in fact, be "receptive" to hearing your
more valuable opinions on the matter, Rene...why not post up
there what it's really about? You know, "you think this is bad?
Then have you considered how Monsanto are also ... and ... with
these methods?"...and they'll at least be ready to listen to
your opinions there because they're against it so, clearly, no
"Monsanto fans" that they'd refuse to listen...
How about making your "protests" more _useful_ for once? Spread
a little "education" rather than just "blanking" people...
For example, Phil's website makes his "protest" in a useful way
that it "blocks" any browsers from "coalition of the willing"
countries...BUT, sensibly, actually shows a page explaining that
this has happened...being "silent" or hiding away in your
protests is dumb...for instance, if Phil didn't put up the page
explaining that the viewer has been blocked and _why_ the viewer
has been blocked (plus, all those great links to attempt a
modicum of _education_ as to what's really going on with Iraq)
then the block itself would be _USELESS_...people would just
think "oh, ISP problems" and wander away _ignorant_ of the
protest, of _why_ Phil is making the protest, _why_ the issue
needs to be protested against and so forth...this is a
_sensible_ kind of protest...
But, on the other hand, there was source code posted here before
that had German comments in it...and the comments not being in
English was a "protest"...could anyone actually tell this until
it was explained? Nope...so the point of the protest was
entirely missed...those who can't read German just look and
think "oh, it's in German...can't read that" and then just
_IGNORE_ it and skip over it...this is a dumb "silent" kind of
protest...how is anyone supposed to know it's a "protest"? How
is the _important message_ of the protest supposed to get across
to anyone? How does it, in fact, change anyone's opinions for
the _better_, when those very people who need to be educated
about what's going so terribly wrong are ignored?
Indeed, what is the point of "preaching to the converted"? Just
to get a "pat on the back" from people who already think like
you? Arguably, is that "protest" or is that trying to win some
"popularity contest"? To make a _real_ protest about something,
you must wade into the middle of the "unbelievers" and explain
to them what you're protest is and why it's important and so
forth...or there's absolutely no point in doing it...
And, yes, when I was wandering into this group and talking about
environmental issues that many didn't want to hear about or how
I was protesting about the war, Guantanamo and Bush long before
everyone found out how _accurate_ I was being about their stream
of "war lies" that it's now almost "popular" to Bush-bash...the
responses were not always favourable, at all...but, if they
were, then it would NOT be a "protest"...it would NOT be about
trying to get things changed...you have to, in a sense, take
your protest _directly_ to the unbelievers or, simply, it's not
really a protest...however "upset" you might be about the
issue...

have been on all the London anti-war marches (except one because
I was on the other side of the world when it was called,
enjoying the exceptionally civilised hospitality of a Muslim

time)...and have clearly never supported this crap at all, as
I - even when I was somewhat alone in doing so near the start -
have consistently Bush-bashed in my posts for ages...do I

What Bush and his cohorts really need to appreciate is that -
though I would not approve in the slightest as I'm against
violence - when "the people" really, really are pushed too
far...it's not just a case that they "take action"...riots can
developed, lynch mobs with torches on the street...pushed far
too far, people can start taking blood and taking people's heads
as "trophies" of their revolution...
In their little "bubble" of "acceptable corruption" that
supports their lives of excessive luxury as neo-Aristocrats,
they might be so detached from reality to comprehend that when
"the people" snap, they often _snap_ in an uncontrollable
way...that the next two million to march towards Westminister
(the UK parliament buildings) might not march passed but _march
inside_...two million people? How the hell could you stop them?
Even if you pulled back tens of thousands of troops to do things
"the Chinese way" in simply gunning down those you object to,
then, still, _two million_? One thirtieth of the entire UK
population all in one place and that place is heading straight
towards the Parliament buildings? That level of anger and there
is NOTHING they could do to protect themselves...no barriers
that could stop such a flow of people...and, also, against the
very people of that nation which the army are sworn to protect?
Don't even expect the army to necessarily follow orders to
protect you (many "coups" and "revolutions" are, in fact,
_instigated_ by the army and military dictators use the
"revolution" to take control for themselves...plus, the US might
have been "shocked" when they ordered Iraqi police and military
forces against Fallujah and they "switched sides" but then, as I
say, they so often fail to understand...you know, think that
they are "Kings" or, like the Roman Emporer Nero or the Egyptian
Pharoahs, that they are somehow "gods" that no-one will
oppose...when you start ignoring the people and the laws and
their rights, then don't expect the laws and "orders" to be
respected in return, simply)...and if that angry to do such a
thing, then - though I regret saying so and would never support
or condone such actions - don't bank on them being "civilised"
about things once inside...I mean, _literally_, don't bank on
them not inflicting some "torture" and "abuse" on
you...certainly, don't count on walking out alive...
Oh, yes, that's a terrible thing to happen...I'd never be behind
such a thing ever...but when "the people" are pushed far, far
too far then don't expect laws to matter anymore, don't expect
"civilised" conduct...expect nothing but unadulterated
_ANGER_...
The blood-thirsty "revolutions" that gave us Parliament in the
first place...that literally took off the heads of all the
French Aristocrats for France's staunchly secular Republic...in
fact, finding "revolutions" that didn't involve bloodshed and
that the previous "leaders" are physically taken...even
sometimes literally having their corpses paraded around as
"trophies" of that revolution (and, in a sense, when you boldly
and proudly waved Saddam's son's bodies in such a manner, can
you really expect any less in return? Which was unbelievable
contemptuous in its messages to Iraqis when you understand some
"context" from that country...Saddam and the rulers prior to him
both slaughtered the leaders before them and paraded the corpses
on TV to show "I'm the new leader"...so, when our media
reported: "oh, the Iraqis are used to seeing corpses on TV, it's
not as upsetting to them as to Westerners" as an excuse for
doing so...they failed to mention _WHY_ they are used to
it...and that's because it's almost "tradition" for the _new
dictators_ to parade the bodies of the old leaders like this on
TV to send the clear message about who's now in charge...and
there's no way that the coalition's "experts" in Iraqi culture
didn't know the implicit "meaning" behind doing that...they
almost certainly _knowingly_ paraded the bodies to _delibrately_
send an underlying "we're your new dictators" message to the
Iraqis but to do so in a way that, without the "context",
Western eyes - which they have to keep happy for continued
support for the war - wouldn't realise what was being
said...also, on top of this, performing unnecessary autopsies?
Clearly unnecessary because there's no doubt how they died at
all because they killed them...playing around with the corpses?
Supposedly to make them "presentable"...and then, the biggie,
delibrately NOT burying them within 24 hours (even though they
could easily have got their pictures within 24 hours and then
broadcast those, without having to keep them from being buried)?
All these things are yet more examples of this _DELIBRATE_
strategy of disrespecting and humiliating the Muslim beliefs of
Iraqis...which has also to be considered from the perspective
that it's not only Iraqi Muslims who are offended by such
actions but all Muslims...it is, whatever they say, a blatant
attack on _Islam_ and our "born again Christian" Bush perhaps
did not make any mistake when he referred to his "mission" as a
"Crusade"...after all, those "address to the nation" speeches
are carefully scripted...you don't easily make mistakes...and,
indeed, perhaps the only slip was forgetting to _hide_ the
actual anti-Islamic "Crusade" that Bush is on...consider the
torture and humilation...a special "Muslim only" concentration
camp that appears to have been doing exactly the same things for
_years_ as we see in the photographs...the outright denial of
human rights...US soldiers are coming forward describing their
orders in Iraq as "genocide"...do we need to wait until it
becomes a systematic genocide? Another - though likely lesser,
just as vile - Holocaust? Following in Grand-daddy Bush's
footsteps perhaps? What did grampa Bush say to Bush junior while
bouncing him on his knee? Was it "I know realise and deeply
regret my Nazi supporting actions", teaching his grandson due
morals and responsibility...or something more like "We almost
got away with it...the Third Reich will rise again...remember,
Junior, when you bring our Master Race to power, be more subtle
than our Herr Hitler was...do it with greater stealth so that
they are unprepared and will react too late to be able to stop
us...the slightest 'headstart' that no other Churchills are
alerted too early to begin waging war against us and we would
have won this time around...you remember this lesson well,
Junior, as you slaughter those vile 'towel-heads' in the name of
Ayrian superiority...don't go for the Jews but the Muslims
first...people will be cautious about attacks on the Jews
because of what happened before...confuse their efforts by being
slower, more stealthy and choose those they would not suspect"?
An exaggeration, perhaps...but what would exactly sounds more
like for a known Nazi supporter to teach his children and
children's children?

Indeed; And there are signs everywhere...biometric
identification? Constant reduction of Civil Liberties (Blair, in
fact, is actually amazingly _ahead_ of Bush on this score...a
consequence of us never writing down our Constitution or having
a Supreme Court to defend there...I always suspected when Blair
used a 100% American style election campaign - NOT usual here at
all - and then this completely undying support by a supposed
"left-winger" for the most right-wing US administration there's
possibly ever been? And _ignoring_ the cries of two million
completely to do exactly what he is told by Washington? Plus,
also, not in any way objecting to our troops being placed under
US control in Iraq and not insisting on a British "deputy" under
Paul Bremer or, in fact, any sovereign control of our own troops
whatsoever? I temporarily considered a simply stealthy and evil
idea...what exactly would stop an administration and big
business interests intent on _EMPIRE_ from not "parachuting" in
a "puppet" via democracy to take a "colony" without going to
war? And that Bush and Blair are so close together and following
the same agenda because, in fact, they quite literally are -
behind the scenes - both just puppets of a larger "government"
dictating their terms of "empire"? Usurp democracy by using the
media and flashy campaigns to "dupe" the public to always
install their "puppets"...kind of like how the US are stopping
any democratic elections in Iraq in preference to their "puppet
regime"...eroding Civil Liberties...Blair's already dismantled
many of our "checks and balances"...Bush rigging elections,
which will be easier to rig when it all goes electronic -
unverifiable, no "recounts", etc. - this year...what if
someone - big business interests - really is intent on "world
domination" and has usurped the democracies by the back door and
is now working on "installing democracy" to do it everywhere in
the world? A "conspiracy theory", for sure...but then, so was
the Holocaust and that really did happen, right under everyone's
noses that it was not realised just what the Nazis really were
until they were defeated)...
