In the red corner; Betov, sponsered by the Low Levellers and the hotel chain
Asm Renaissance -- "Where every room has its own GPL (copyright, but feel
free to take our slogan and use it as your own; just make sure this appears
in all your literature)".
In the blue corner; Randall Hyde, sponsored by the High Levellers and the
Circus Adobe -- "You've seen the rest; our Acrobat is best (TM, copyright
and pats. pending; all Acrobats supplied without warranty)".
At stake; reputations (well at last several "megas" of source code and a
couple of PDFs). A contest of 15 posts in 3 week rounds.
Rules; breaking the opponents assembler scores points; a knock-out will be
declared for beating the opponent's arguments down to the canvas for a
period longer than 10 days without a suitable bug report. Points removed for
biting, kicking, swearing, boring (especially repetition) or top posting.
Wrestling only permitted with consciences.
Towelling up for Betov we will have Wannabee, who will cool him off by
waving his hands and mopping his brow with what looks like a cat; while
Hutch will fan Randy with a MASM licence, although the details will be
unreadable from the audience. Pre-match entertainment by Sage and the
SemiColons. Between-round boards display by Ample Annie; post-fight report
by Beth, with much larger followup reports to provide the correct result.
Referees: Matt Taylor, Charles A. Crayne and Terje Mathisen from clax.
I'd pay good money to see this one.
