Yeah, I've looked at Wannabe's stuff :-)
I must admit, though, there are some good people who've
shown up at the RosAsm board on occasion. Take Jimmy,
for example, who is reworking Spasm so that it will be
a reasonable assembler :-)
While I have lots of respect for the people who contribute
to your product, I also feel sorry for them. Every time you
get started on one of your tirades like this, it embarrasses
them. C'mon, people are posting to your own board how
you should tone down these attacks on HLA and MASM
as you're scaring people away from considering RosAsm.
You should take their advice - they are right, you know.

Good thing, too. Because when people ask such questions,
they get the boot from the board...

The difference between RosAsm users not asking questions
and HLA users asking questions (e.g., about installing and
customizing RadASM) is that HLA is gaining a *lot* of
users. People aren't simply downloading the zip file, unpacking,
trying something simple, watching it crash, and then moving
on to something else. They installing and using HLA.
Given the large number of people, especially beginners,
that are installing and using HLA, it's quite expected to have
some people encounter difficulties. The fact that you don't
have such problems with RosAsm suggests that you're not
getting a large number of people who are actually using
the thing. I know for a fact, personally, how easy it is to
crash RosAsm. Believe me, if you were getting a large
number of users who really wanted to use RosAsm,
they'd be complaining. Not everyone, for example,
is willing to rename their identifiers when the assembler
crashes or reports a phantom "duplicate symbol" error.
Most people just switch to MASM or HLA at that
point.

Yet another swindled person over at comp.lang.asm.x86:

I love this assembler! undoubtedly the most accessible and well
documented of any I have ever tried, I love the way it leverages my
C/C++ skillz and live so close to where you teach (Garden
Grove,California) that I feel like going down to the campus and
shaking your hand congradulating you for such a fine job youve done.
Keep doing what your doing. Thanx. :)

Yeah, those would be the ones.
