Putting "C-64" into Google, Google replies "did you mean C64?"...so,
Google - having indexed the entire web - thinks you're wrong too...all
the
websites I see here have "C64" not "C-64"...
EB>
No, the dash is still being used:

And take a look at the logo...I remember when C=64 was common.
BS>
No; And I'll tell you why: AMOS was the Amiga version...it was called
STOS
(yeah, like the x86 machine instruction ;) for the Atari ST...I guess
the
"OS" part was because they did basically replace the standard GUI OS
("GEM"
on the ST...yeah, the same Digital Research GUI as did make a small
appearance on the PC :) for the older-style "BASIC interpreter"
command-prompt thing...
EB>
I thought STOS and AMOS where German products (perhaps I am confusing
it with GFA Basic [ http://www.gfasoft.gfa.net/eng/products.htm ]).
Interesting that the source code for both STOS and AMOS have been
released to the public domain.

I'm sure _you_ might personally be able to connect your modem
to King Kong's elbow or whatever
EB>
Actually, he is a little picky about his elbow... ;)
BS>
I don't mind the conversation but, well, the original intention
was only to talk to Frank...
EB>
Well, just BE THAT WAY then... Far be it for any of us to 'distract'
you from your ALL-IMPORTANT conversation with Frank. We ALAers are
certainly capable of carrying on conversations 'without' you. We can
simply ignore you if that is what you wish. It's not like ALA is going
to crumble apart into some black hole or anything. You just go to your
corner and "talk to Frank" then... don't mind us...
;-)
Nathan.
