There was some talk of this a few years ago, I don't see what is new
about it.
It is pretty much a given that everything we "feel" is from the brain.

Yes, the 'mystics' knew this thousands of years ago. The occultist
view is that anyone can have a conversation with their "Holy Guardian
Angel" or their link with the devine.

No, it will just create a new dogma to replace some of the old.
Something on the lines of "scientism" or "technocracy" or other such
fallacy. Humans will be humans. They will always come up with new
and engenius ways to enslave another's will.
The strongest weapon of *any* philosophy is an appeal to emotion.
When faced with a choice that involves emotion or facts, 90% of the
time, people will trust their emotion... or "gut feeling."

Ever heard of Tantra? A very old concept. It's not something that is
"now" proven. It is something humans have been practicing for
hundreds of centuries.

We are born with the ability to experience unexplainable things.
What I find most mysterious is the ability for the brain to
emulate reality while the body is resting in such a way that it
is indistinguishable from actual reality.

My thoughts exactly.
