Not this time :) I was undertaking that long-promised upgrade. Took me several tries to remember which kernel it was that liked my cdrom (an advantage to upgrading more often than I do - you can maybe remember what's what from one time to the next). Apparently, during one of those trials, I selected hdb1 instead of hdc1 as my "target" partition, and formatted it. I *think* that's what must have happened. Maybe the installer just formatted that partition on its own, but I think I did it to myself. In any case, it's gone. All that crap needed to be rewritten from scratch, anyway! :)

That would be cool. I've got a plant in my house - left by former owners - that's got a big "bulb" (smooth - definitely not a pineapple) and a single stalk... I'm assuming it's some kind of "century plant" that will put on a flower one of these years. It's been twenty years (my God!!!) and no flower yet, but... I'm patient...
