I tried ordering a beer, an ale, a wine and a shot. It's a shame the
bartender don't know how to take an order. I wanted a drink not
only for Laertes but for myself as well.
Oh, some more verbs that are good and fun...
flirt, blink, wink, drool ;-)
Drinking problem ? The shot glass has a hole in the bottom ?
That reminds me... of a drinking problem in the movie, Airplane.
I'll see if I can find an AA group in there somewhere. I didn't look
for help with the drinking problem, but thanks... I'll check that out.
I went fishing, went into all the town buildings, picked up a lot of
different things and did get into the castle (?) and somewhere made
a left turn into darkness and died. I was brought back to life, and
started running around naked. I'm assuming that I lost all the items
where I died, and that one of the items permitted me to get into the
castle, and if the items were all dropped inside the castle, they didn't
reappear in their original locations. Which is okay if there's another
puzzle to figure out. But it's on the brink of annoying if there's no
way to get back into the castle without actually restarting. And
annoying is okay if that's the game style, but I personally consider
such an annoyance as a step backwards. I didn't check out the
church after the death... which kind of surprises me, that being raised
did not put me in the temple.
Something kind of neat, would be a mirror and display a consolized
picture when the mirror is viewed. Maybe that's already in there and
I haven't quite run across it yet. <g> Maybe you can get Annie or
Beth to provide some console art so that when someone looks at
an item, they see a picture.
Also, don't you think everyone should be wearing some clothes?
Otherwise, if you do end up displaying console art, you might have
to provide a rating system... which would be a great use for FLAGS.
FLAGS
rating: g, pg, r, x, 0, 1, 2, 3
desc: long, verbose, short, 0, 1
hints: off, on, 0, 1
vision: normal, n+i, i, tv (normal, normal with infravision, infravision,
true vision/all vision)
NOTE: infravision would be you can see heat and movement but
cold objects or objects with the same temp as the environment
would be invisible.
dress-style: greek, roman, english, caveman, egyptian, western
NOTE: style would be used to dress people, different dressings
for different styles (ie, turbans, crowns, etc).
Also, note, that typing in the following:
FLAGS DRESS-STYLE
yields
greek, roman, english, caveman, egyptian, western
So it's a convenient way to provide the list of flags.
FLAGS by itself would list all the available flags.
There's opportunity to grow. You can add whatever flags you like
in the future.
I don't see any CONS, just PROS for the use of flags. Oh wait...
it means you might have to study dressing styles. Maybe a Monty
Python skit can help. So the CONS means more work. <shrug>
I hope that helps.
