it is not the only reason
i have buy a tv where i have a problem with brightness (i think the tv
was 200 euri) i have do nothing.
The same problem with my first tft lcd monitor for pc (in that time it
was quite expensive because it was a new technology)
but i phone to its firm who had made it. It response someone with
foreign accent; i explain the problem of too "brightness" of that
monitor and he propose to me to change that monitor with another of
same model. I change it and all ok, it is very good
until now (for many years)
I never have some problem of this kind for old TVs

one publicity of one model on the net says frequency horizontal 31-60
kHz, frequency vertical: 43-85 Hz
