Re: Why I stop attacking HLA

I am pleased to see the potential for such a blending of minds in ALA
but I am wary of a couple of the comments from Randall Hyde.

> It is good to see that you've finally figured out how much damage
> you've done to your own reputation over the past few weeks.

I have always seen wolfgang as a perfect gentleman so this comment is a
little off colour and short of the facts.

Now as far as reputations go, Betov has never had one, even thoug he
would like to think otherwise and with me in ALA, its a "DON'T CARE" as
I write in MASM and have no real need for a clapped out dead in the
water defunct Usenet group when I can work with so many experienced
MASM programers and enjoy the difference.

Now just to offend everyone else, I will continue to recommend
programming beginners test out HLA because its a very good project that
properly targets people at the entry level and with the historical AOA
behind it, no-one else even vaguely caters for this area properly.

Someone seems to be missing the point here, I have been in perfect
agreement with this view since I started programming a long time ago
but in fact I am not the one who has kept rainging this issue over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over again.

I personally don't care if bad mannered script kiddies learn a few
clunky high level routines and get them to work and if they don't
properly undersand how and where to apply something as trivial as a
polling loop, I don't hold it against them as they will have time to
learn but when the issue has been raised so many time with a maximum of
invective and noise while being incorrect technically , after a while I
get te the "I don't give a PHUK" stage and go after it.

As ALA is the perfect place to dump trash like this, as soon as you
hear the issue raised again, I will put the boot into the same old
bulsh*t again.

Now with the way at least some people across te Internet have tried to
capitalise on Iczelion's name, I make no apology for defending an old
friend who posted his classic work for anyone to use and while I am
more than happy to see anyone use his work I wil continue to warn
prospective users to go and get the originals from his own web site and
to be very wary of phonies.

> Of course, expecting Rene to become a bit more civilized is simply
> expecting too much :-(

Now this shows a gross misunderstanding of what the problem is with
Betov, it is simply a matter of drying him out of the cheap soap suds
he is usually full of and pointing him at an unmarket source where
quality improves on quantity.

I doubt he is robust enough to start on pure malts but there are a
multitude of very good French brandies with a high enough alcohol
content to fuel the French space race that would really sharpen him up.
Instead of the syndrome of a supermarket soap suds induced state of
befuddled euphoria with the byproduct running down his legs, he could
be clear and sharp and start writing some decent code at last.

It will not get hm to the heights of a supply of Glenfiddich but any
mprovement would help him out.
