It's not better, it's equal. It just has much more opportunities
than anyone else has. And there is a catch from Microsoft... :)

So, there are two choices: to use MASM32 and to be damned

You see, you are not allowed to make that thing that made
Mr. Gates a millionaire. Right, even a specially crafted kid
can make such thing. Soon we'll make microprocessors like pancakes.
DOS is nothing but the right place and the right time.
You can however, design that thing with emu8086 and/or FASM
- THERE ARE NO ILLEGITIMATE LICENCE RESTRICTIONS - use it as you wish,
do what you want, sell, rent it or give it for free.
The days when only a selected few could afford to make a compiler
are gone for good. If you'll learn how to use the calculator, you'll
be a mathematician, if not you'll be a poor mathematician at best.
Well, at least you may learn to use the entertainment system :)
But Mr. Hyde is true, it is the voters' fault.

Windows is addictive. It is tested & proven.
emu8086, unlike many others, uses natural assembly language,
is not addictive because it uses MASM16 or FASM syntax at your
choice and when you are ready you are free to advance
up to Intel assemblers. Original Intel syntax that FASM uses
is a lot better than any other and less confusing than MASM,
in addition it is TASM compatible.
One syntax many assemblers. Simply Fantastic.
Releasing the colonies was a mistake,
admittedly a gigantic mistake, but a mistake nevertheless.
Their "Democracy" model has failed.
