Re: License Choice

"Third, there are all of the ethical considerations, and this point is
the most "discuted". "

Of course GPL is a Licence for which etical conserns are _crusial_.

"Some (like me), push the logic to its natural end, and say clearly,
that the GPL Mouvement is a politicaly left-wing mouvement, which
purpose and goal "

Well, I disagree. The GPL may be borned from some thoughts also present
in the left-extreme wing of political awareness, but to say that
GPL=Left extreme is the same as to effectivly kill it. There is not a
single word in the licence about Left wing extremes. So either the GPL
does not agree with you, or it fail to mention it.
In any case, to give such a vital prinsiple as the thoughts of the GPL
to some political movement is imo wrong on every account.

About Politics:
First, politics is about power(over), and nothing more. Second, once
you take on a political paraplua of some party, your brain is no longer
needed and you now have to do what the movement does, or you get thrown
out, even when you are right and they are not. Same as for every place
where people meet. Its the baboons way of living. Where there is such a
need for agreements, there is a lust for power. Simple as that. And
Power corrupts. (jfr. Beth :) )

A party will attract people who like to attend, and who likes to be in
such settings/surroundings. Nothing more. From that day on, they are
the same as any party. A political party, with diffrent issues, but
same goal : To grow in power. The net effect is that when they get
power, they attract people who wants and have talents for power. After
that, you can wipe your ass with their "ethics".

I am way closer to an anarchist. Anarchist does not need to attend to
parties. Maybe I do not understand what an anarchist really is. But if
so, then I prefer to the extreme side of that. I have seen people
living together, piecefully, in a commune, when you could convince them
to not talk about anything from their everydaylife (Like politics,
sallery, job and status and so on). Just beeing human beeings. People
able to live like that can perform small "miracles". And once you turn
on their "charackter" everything turns to ***.

"
is to fight against the major companies, who want to take control on
public liberties, on culture, and on Democratie.
"

Yes, but this is not _in reality_ related to the political left. This
is related more to basic human values. For instance, if thoose
companies would conduct their buisness with a great deal of ethics,
there would be no need to try to fight them. In that case it would
actually be unethical to fight them. But in anyway, the only way to
make changes is to get the little people conserned. And the way I see
it, the GPL can do this by allowing people to get accustomed that
software should be free.

And let me just add, that each time I see the face of the author of
BitTourment asking me to donor, I curse him. :))) If I had wanted to
donate something, I would have. Simple as that !

"
Some others - most, infact - are in the opinion that the GPL is just
the GPL, without ethical and political implications. "

Its has ESSENTIAL ethical implications, but few political implications.
You should imo, not say political in the same sentance as ethical.
Those are so far apart that you could even call them oposites. Politics
is one way to gain power. The GPL is one way to dissipate power. (Share
it).

"
Which is, IMO, a complete negation of logic.
"

Not to me. Sorry, but on this I do not agree.
