Why has there been a break-out of idiocy on a.l.a in the last few days?

Why are you being such a prick on a.l.a(.) in the last few days?

No more of a prick than I usually am, it's probably just the
density's increased. It's just that people unable to tell a
fricking Unisys mainframe from a shitty pee-cee are a complete
embarassment to the group. Or _ought to be_. It would be a
shame to see this group descend into being just a mass of
gibbering droolers.

Funnily enough I do have an assembly related question (a week
ago I tried to optimise 20 lines of C code into 10 lines of
SSE2 asm, and made it 15% slower in so doing). And yet I haven't
posted it here yet. Why? Because I've lost faith in the group's
ability to answer such queries. (Though paradoxically, not
any individual's abilities.)
