I guess Betov would agree. And I guess thats why I am the fool.

There is also the problem of momentum to overcome. I see a trend going
towards VHLL languages. Pretty soon, programming is going to be done
with drag and drop components with little actual knowledge required.

I program with drag and drop, but i still program in assembly.
I generate assembly code for wizard output.
I generate assembly code for scripts.

In addition. Someone must be around to write theese components? And since moores law failed, then the whole previous strategy of MS also failed. They likly have a new one, but new hardware will arrive and asm will be needed. Otherwise, if new hardware will not arrive, asm is needed to speed up things. Win-win.
