: Capitalism is incompatible with democracy.
Capitalism represents an extreme economic ideal. From what I
recall of the economic classes taken, it represents complete
freedom from government intervention.
Of course, the instructors tended to compare it another extreme
economic ideal called Communism, where everything ends up as
community owned. Working along those premises, capitalism
represents private ownership, nothing ends up owned by the
government and if someone is the first to spot a piece of vacant
land, they claim it and own it, government never gets involved.
Neither one of these economic ideals exist anywhere, and if they
ever do come to exist they end up /extremely/ short-lived.
Democracy on the other hand tends to represent a form of
government, and typically gets compared to tyranny and/or
socialism.
So capitalism and communism represent two non-existant
economic ideals.
And democracy, tyranny and soliciam represent common political
systems that exist all over the planet where democracy ends up
as a synonym for socialism.
