<g> Well it was just plain silly trying to run his ELF app inside
Windows... I think I need some sort of emulator to really check
it out...
Heh, get this, the RoadRunners/TimeWarner/BrightHouse servers
responded with:
Outlook Express could not post your message.
Subject 'Re: Problems posting to CLAX...',
Account: 'tb', Server: 'news-server.tampabay.rr.com',
Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '441 437
Rejected 2249 000001 TooOld',
Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 441,
Error Number: 0x800CCCA9
Trying again... Argh. I messed with the time on the computer
a day or two ago to check something out and set the date a day
behind and forgot about that. The news servers were coughing up
the above error. If anyone runs into this problem, just make sure
you've got the correct time set on your system. Microsoft News
servers do not complain about the problem, so you can future or
past post to pretty much any degree. The new RoadRunner/
BrightHouse/TimeWarner servers (groan! and I just recalled that
AOL bought TimeWarner about 8 to 10 years ago) seem to
check the dates on posts.
The post to CLAX, however, gave a different error and were
attempted well before I played with the time on this system.
Thanks for your insights, Chuck.
