I am listening to this researcher now, who is saying something very
interessting.

<snip>

And it
is via the ape, most likly, when killed that the viruses have further
spread into humans.

Maybe the only statement that "rings true" for me so far...

But the most important reason seems to be that the bat
is forced to move from its natural habitat, which have been destroyed by
humans... The bat is able to fly very long distances, and that is how it
has been able to reach us with its secrets eventually. So basically, the
Bat has learned to cope with the disease via natural selection, due to
its
very short lifecycle, and the reason why we learn about it, is the
destruction of its habitat, which it forcing it closer to sivilisation.

I'd say it's plausible given my very sparse knowledge of rabies, but I'd
prefer to have a link to a scientific source because your reiteration of
it
seems "Hollywood-ified"...

you know, what disease one gets is determined by how they deposit their
disease-ridden payload:
aids, up from behind;
ebola, if swallowed;
sars, harmful if inhaled;
and even basic physical contact can leave outbreaks of incurable painful
sores.

now, one can recognize them by a few very distinctive traits:
often brightly colored wheras most others are often a dull grey or black;
overly well groomed compared with others of their species;
inability to stand upright when near a table, hood of a car, a pole, or
handrails;
some may have pointed or elevated feet;
a distinctive smell like that of inscense or flowers;
....

beware, don't bend over to pick up your things if you think you see one
comming, or it might do just the same to you as well...

be warned, for they have been forced from their habitat into the very heart
of civilization. keep special attention whenever in any concealed location,
such as a public bathroom or alley, or after having a few drinks at the bar,
as even minor actions may provoke them into action.

be careful as to not let one of them come near you, and never let one come
inside...
