The last I heard, he and Betov were going up to Brokeback Mountain for a
little R&R.

maybe it will turn into a musical:
baroque back-mountain

or something...

....
such a comment, by its basic premise, can be assumed false.

the response, by extention, is not even a reasonable outcome (in part, because reality does not typically "break out into song" in a musical-like manner).

Nonsense! Betov and I break out into song all the time. "Song of the Vulgar Boatmen", mostly. A little "Brokeback Mountain Breakdown" ( a "fiddle" tune). We're working up a groovy rendition of "Reginald, Where Are Your Sources?" :)

so, I appologize if anyone took offense at this.

My ego's robust enough to handle it, and I assume Betov's is, too.

Honestly, I'm a little surprised to see homophobia ("***-bashin'" in plain English) crop up in a presumably intelligent group of people. (as a public-heath warning, you should be aware that you don't get HIV/AIDS *only* from homosexual contact - wrap that rascal!)

actually, in my case any more I try not to worry even about direct insults (people can say insults and condemnations, but these are just words, and need not be taken so seriously, esp on usenet, of all things).

It's all ones and zeros. Mostly zeros.

after all, life itself is demeaning enough. a recent example being the death of a family member of the female I care about (a suicide), and me not having really seen or heard much of anything from her for about a month now, and even if I see her again, things will likely still be rather bleak (she doesn't really care about me anyways).

Won't hurt to let her know that you care about *her*. Rejection is not life-threatening. (none of my fuckin' business, but you mentioned it...)

so, IMO, in the end it doesn't do much good to worry about jokes on usenet.

Agreed!!!

but, yes, maybe I was pushing it...

Okay, don't forget to pop it, or otherwise restore your stack. :)

Best,
Frank
