Wouldn't one just use makefiles for that functionality?

Well, I would, and indeed I do, but apparently Randy feels that such
skills are relatively rare in his target audience.

That might be your interpretation of what I feel.
However, I would suggest to you that the evidence clearly demonstrates
that you don't have a clue what you're talking about. After all, if I
didn't think that HLA users would be comfortable with make files, why
would I supply make files in the distribution to build HLA itself, the
HLA standard library, and all the example programs? If I though that
using makefiles were totally beyond the capabilities of a beginning
assembly language programmer, why would I include a whole chapter
dedicated to managing large projects in AoA (http://webster.cs.ucr.edu/
AoA/Windows/HTML/ManagingLargePrograms.html#998834)?

As usual, you're trolling and taking swipes at the HLA user base.
Remember the days when you used to garner a lot of respect because of
your role with CLAX? Quite frankly, you're burning up all that respect
by behaving a whole like like Rene Tournois. Congratulations.

Randy Hyde
