Re: Which assembler (or compiler) to start with? (newbie question)



Your choice of assembler depends almost exclusively on the assembler
that will be used in the course you are going to do. For any processor
the mnemonics (instructions) are the same but every assembler is
different in how it manages a large number of things and you will
waste time learning one and having to use another.

Either ring the university or ask around to find out what assembler
will be used and you will save yourself a lot of hassle when the
course starts.
