Yeah, you never can tell though.
I'm scared to recommend that book because of the reviews.
OTOH, most of them are of a highly "academic" nature and
as such, need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Then, on the other hand, I usually don't have much praise
for a book where someone takes a program they've written
and adds some prose around the code to turn it into a book.
I always figured that this is what design documentation is
supposed to be for. Then again, at least the code is commented :-)

I think that factual stuff that applies to everyone should be in third person etc, but the closing summaries sound better in first ("I really can't recommend it"), as it's the one person writing the review that feels that way, and if say someone wrote a review saying "we think Geometry Wars is shit" then it simply wouldn't be true. ...
