I'm not a regular reader of this group but I now have a problem I hope
people can help me with. The company I work for has a product that
uses an 8086 in an embedded system, and the system we used to develop
it on has died (an HP64000). A change to software is now needed so we
need a way to assemble, link, and locate the new code. We have
retrieved the source code from the floppies onto our PC network but
now we need to reproduce the final binary. There is no high-level
language code, it's all assembler.

Does anyone have or can recommend a development package with an
assembler, linker and locator that produces files for preogramming
EPROMs? A tool to split the resulting file into an even and odd byte
file would be great, too.

I'll keep checking here or email me at nickn626(at)sbcglobal.net

Thanks.
