cache memory help

    I have an Intel i845 board with a P4 Celeron 2.4ghz processor. I also
    have 1gb (512mbx2) I am running XP Pro. I built the computer myself but
    am having a problem with the cache memory!!! I can't get it to read it.
    I have had it on before, but I reloaded xp and it went away. It says
    000kb cache memory. Therefore the computer runs like crap!!! It is
    going to be a video editing computer but I won't work, if I don't have
    any cache memory. I think the amount it has is 256kb. Anybody who can
    help me get the cache memory on please do!!! Thanks so much,
