<retrospect>Yes, I did.</retrospect> For some reason, the
smaller-scale microprocessors (z80, etc) escaped my memory when I
wrote that post, and I don't know much about mainframes.
The Z80(A) is a very versatile chip. I've seen all sorts of uses for
it. I've got an old ZX Spectrum somewhere at home, but I think the
EPROM is dead. I was playing around with the contacts at the back of
the machine some years ago and... something happened. Now, all it does
is display pretty colours on the screen as if it was being constantly
powercycled.
Ah, well. At least I can now rip the CPU out of it and build something
else.
