Actually one of the problems we're facing is this: a speedup of >5:1
is realized in a test program that reads and writes .wav files at
full-speed, 100 percent CPU, but when the code is run as a task in
real-time (this is on FC4, using version 2.6.18 of the kernel) the
usage drops only from 50 percent to 20 percent.
We're thinking that task switching and interrupts are killing the
optimizations. Does anyone have any hints on how to fix this?
