I have never [deliberately] tried mixing elements from different
releases, nor do I recall the issue being discussed, but I don't think
that it is a good idea. I just took a look at the four versions of
"hlalib.a" which I currently have installed, and no two of them are the
same size. So, if you really want to test different HLA versions, you
need to install each one in its own directory and modify the path to
both executables, and both environment variables, whenever you want to
switch versions.
