    Not wanting to get too far off-topic, and I don't disagree with you
    Mike, but there is something to be said for real life, face-to-face
    interaction. You know, the kind of thing that people did back in
    prehistoric times, B.C. (Before Computers).

    When one is a rank newbie, the personal aspect can also be more
    comforting. Usenet can be a cold and harsh environment. The anonymity
    afforded by this medium allows people to act in ways that they
    probably wouldn't, up close and personal. When one is first starting,
    it can be quite intimidating, at least until one learns how to use
    killfilters.

    BTW, I know that you don't know me from Adam, but it's good to see you
    back. I've enjoyed your insight and sense of humour over the years.
