Yes. Ubuntu is friggin' weird. Totally nuts in my view.
It's friggin' Windows calling itself Linux.
Obvious advice: Get yourself a real distro.
ObParanoia: It is scary that Ubuntu seems to be getting the mindshare
these days. Maybe it is an MS plot...
