No, the person I was thinking of had a family name that sounded at
least vaguely french to me. Gordon doesn't qualify, no matter how
French he may actually be - his name recalls Scotland to me, not
France. I just did a moderately exhaustive search, and I couldn't find
any regular poster other than Ben whose name was a good fit to my
memory. There's a good reason why I normally rely upon pen and paper,
or electronic storage media, rather than my own memory :-(.
