Interaction with office programs

LS,

I'm looking for information, or a starting point, for interaction of
Fujitsu's powercobol/netcobol with the various MS office programs. What
method is best to use? COM/OLE/DDE/...? I want to directly interact with the
various objects and properties of word/excel/access/outlook, so my idea is
to use COM. Please provide any opinion/experience. Any link to a ms
reference/docs is also greatly appreciated.
