Yep, I agree. No one single "application stack" will prevail.
To me, one of the most compelling aspects of "Web services" (or
architecturally, "Service Oriented Architectures") is that it embraces that
very position. It couldn't care less about the "application stack" behind a
SOAP request (it is, in principle at least, completely agnostic and
universal).
