Also - batch output can be shared without re-creating it. A batch snapshot
that is created is out there and has different security and conflict
requirements. Some users just don't have the privilege to get to the source
data - but have authority to look at the results of a batch process. Sure,
there are ways around this - but they are generally a pain.
Another comparison between batch and on-line is in incremental and full backups.
Will we ever stop doing both?
