Since 1971, when President Nixon unilaterally
defaulted on the U.S. sovereign obligation to pay an
ounce of gold for $35, with the exception of the
Swiss franc until 1996, there has been no escape
because, in accordance with the 1978 modifications
to the IMF's Articles of Agreement (Section 4-2-b),
no currency of any member country may be linked
to gold. All economic, monetary, and financial crises
of the past 30 years flow from the Nixon default.

You wouldn't find any quarrels with this here illustrious banker,
would you now, Mr Goober?

First, *they* defaulted and have been printing *stuff* e'er since in
echange fer practicly free tangibles goods..

Stunning, reallly!
