OMG's Architecture-Driven Modernization Workshop:
A Model-driven Approach to Modernizing IT Systems
March 22-24, Chicago, IL, USA
http://www.omg.org/news/meetings/ADM2004/index.htm
The three-day workshop features three tutorials, two tracks and two
panels that explore concepts related to understanding, improvement,
redesign, migration and redeployment of existing systems. The
tutorials will address the topics of application knowledge reclamation
and transformation, managing code at the model level rather than the
code level, and the basic concepts of architecture re-factoring. Two
tracks entitled "ADM Technical Approaches" and "Practice and
Experience" address diverse topics such as processes and tools
supporting system architecture analysis, and design and experience
reports from ADM-related projects. Two lively panels will tackle the
difficult question of the value of OMG's ADM standardization efforts
and the requirements for next-generation ADM tools.
Examples of the program include:
- ADM in Air Traffic Control and Critical Systems
- Model-driven Legacy Migration
- Asset-based Software Engineering
- Effect of Scale on Methodology and Tools for ADM
- Best Practices for Enterprise Architecture
