News:comp.software.misc is not listed by my generally-reliable-in-such-
matters news provider, and I therefore doubt its legitimate existence.

If it has indeed been created by proper vote, could you please provide a
URL to that effect which I can draw Newsmaster's attention to? Or can
you suggest a real group - news:comp.misc is listed, but may be too
general.

On the continued relevance of the Y2K problem - as long as people write
dates with YY years in international media, there will be the problem of
field order identification - when will 04/06/08 occur?
