    What part of the country are you in? There are actually some (not many)
    Community Colleges still providing IBM-centric "JCL, CICS, Utilities, whatever)
    courses. I know that near me, Northern Illinois University has fairly extensive
    courses.

    If you give me a "general" location, I may be able to find the name of someplace
    where you could get some training *and* some "on machine" time.
