Primary Responsibilities:
As a mainframe Configuration Manager, perform build/deploy functions
with mainframe source-code. Provide technology consultancy support to
business units in defining or designing business processes and
researching enabling technologies based on customer requirements. Act
as a Project Manager's prime source for technology advice within the
consultant's area of specialization and be responsible for the overall
technical implementation and execution of project and performance
criteria. Maintain full knowledge of all phases of business- specific
technology implementations within a project. Assess near-term needs,
utilizing structured interview processes to establish business
priorities. Consult with project management and business subject
matter experts to develop alternative technical solutions; advise on
options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business
processes and system priorities. Be aware of other technical resources
within I.T. and provide this information to project managers as the
need for those skills arises. Coordinate solutions to clarify
interdependencies among systems so that systems appear seamless to
their users. Identify Configurable item (CI's) and defining the
configuration control approach for a project:
- Define naming conventions for Configurable items
- Create project libraries
- Create user groups and access control levels
- Initiate change requests and tracking the same
- Analyze the impact of change requests on project plan parameters
- Synchronize of source code repositories
Required Qualifications:
- Huon code experience (6 months worth would be fine. This product is
now known as "TIG's Policy Solution")
- Configuration Management experience for mainframe code, using
Endevor.
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Proven track record of delivering results.
- Experienced and motivated.
- Financial services or relevant industry experience (some combination
of Insurance or financial services, automotive services, and/or travel
services) highly desirable.
- Large-scale project management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with both legacy and current technical
platforms and tools required.
- Excellent communication, project management, consulting and customer
service skills- Sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated results in high performance teams.
- References should indicate that candidate is respected in the field.
- Requires 5+ years as a practitioner in the technical specialty area.
- Experience in communicating with senior and operational management.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business.
