reverse engineering using Microfocus

Hi there

if this has already been answered in the past please forgive me because I
missed it. We have a lot of Cobol programs that we need to get control of.
We have decided that we are going to create a repository that will help us
determine such questions as what does the program do? What components are re
used and where are they located? etc. In order to do this we are
considering importing the source code into Microfocus cobol and using it's
ability to show program flow as a Jackson diagram to aid us in discussions
with the developers as to what the business logic is. The results of these
conversations will be captured in a repository and annotated with Meta data
to help us get an idea as to impact analysis, what works with what, what is
it's business goal at a high level etc. If anyone has any ideas/comments as
to this approach I would be happy to hear them. Please understand this is
NOT a migration project merely a repository population objective.

Thanks in advance
