Yes. But I originally built them for ASP and then 'converted' them. They are
all COM compliant.

(I have been captivated by this technology for the last 6 years now and I
think it is amazing.)

That's a bit like shooting yourself in the foot.

I don't share the paranoia that is often displayed by some about the
possibilityof viruses being spread by VBScript. They can be spread just as
easily by Java, JavaScript, JScript or VBA macros in MS applications, or
any other web scripting. Why pick on VBScript? None of the scripting
languages can do anything that the user is not permitted to do. If proper
permissions are in place and the Browser has been updated, security is no
worse than under any other scenario.

If you keep inhibiting functionality because it MIGHT be dangerous, there is
little point in then complaining that the software is not feature rich.

VBScript serves a useful purpose, as does JavaScript. Some people run their
Browsers with cookies inhibited, thinking it makes them safe (it
doesn''t...http headers can contain cookies even if they are not written to
your machine). The fact is that Perl, PHP, and probably (I don't know
because I have never used it) Python, can all be used to host or even create
malware.

As soon as you connect your machine to the internet, you are at risk. And if
you think using non-MS software is a passport to smugness, you are sadly
mistaken.

(Denigrate MS software on its merits (or lack of them) but don't pretend the
alternatives are watertight; they are not.)

And what exactly is the risk? I have never had my machine off the air for
more than 2 hours because of a virus, and that was in the days when there
was no anti-virus protection. I run a complete virus check every Sunday (as
well as on-demand, of course...). Usually Panda detects a couple of viruses
that have never been activated and removes them, Registry First Aid and
Hijack This clean up the Trojans, AdAware and XoftSpy remove the data miners
and tracking cookies, and we start Monday with a clean slate and an image
backup... How big is the risk? For me, it isn't worth disabling features in
my software. However, I accept that other people may be more risk averse
than I, and I don't think they are wrong for being so.

It is a personal choice and mine is...

Machine gets infected. So what? It is an inconvenience.

Anyway, getting back to the point... WSH is capable of interchanging
VBScript and JScript, and it DOESN'T use Internet Explorer to run either of
them.

"There are many people who never hear of honour until someone cuts their

missing here? Bewildered by this :-)
