Thanks for the information, Arnold.
As far as I know there are no ActiveX controls involved. (COM is something
I'm pretty fluent in...).
That is curious behaviour indeed...
I have revised the code today, but I can't spend too much time on it and I
can't test it with Netscape.
What I HAVE learned today is that Netscape is MUCH more limiting in it's use
of Javascript than IE is.
It is ironic that although Netscape invented it, the MS implementation is
much richer.
I kept hitting snags, going to the standard, checking with Dreamweaver (it
was checking syntax for Netscape 6) and finding not just minor differences
but quite major ones.
The most shocking to me was that Netscape doesn't support event handling
('onClick', which is fundamental) for a <TD> tag.
I had to rewrite all the tables. I made them slightly smaller and froze the
cursor to be a pointer when I did so, instead of it flicking between an
arrow and a bar. Every cloud has a silver lining... :-)
Anyway, I don't know whether the page is any better in Netscape than it was,
but Dreamweaver reckons it is error free for NN6.
I'll try and find someone who can give me access to a Netscape machine so I
can do some debugging.
Thanks for the pointer, Arnold.
Pete.
