Probably not, but that is not my argument.

Your definitions are not the ones I used.

I was using "biology" as a collective noun for living things. Admittedly, a
loose use, but I believe acceptable.
(If I was to talk about the biology of a planet as being predatory, I don't
think anyone would misunderstand the usage).

I was using "mathematics" = the science of calculation, numeracy, the
popularly accepted meaning of the term.

If there were no living things, there would be no mathematics, because it
was formulated and conceived by living organisms.

As for leaving philosophising until I retire...

1. Why would I take the advice of some character in an obscure movie? (It
may be a "Classic" in your universe, but it is unheard of in mine..)
2. Why would I change the habit of a lifetime? :-)
