This started because of my challenging Judson on the use of the Bible as
an absolute authority when the current text changes as required, to make
a "better translation" or to reflect current language usage.

I do; therefore, if God wanted to provide a book of scriptures to his
devotees (debatable at best, since God by definition is perpetually in
contact with every spiritual entity in existence, and therefore doesn't
need any such thing) then it would be so luminously clear that there
would be no possibility of alternate interpretations, no possibility of
schisms, no misunderstanding of what was written, and it would be
impossible to misrepresent. Further, while it would have to be
retranslated from time to time, there would be no word that couldn't be
translated by its EXACT equivalent.

The Bible, after all, is supposed to be God's word. As such, there is
no way it needs to suffer from all sorts of human faults. I can't
imagine how God would want it any other way.
