Hello folks,

One of my clients, an IT Services firm is presently looking for (2)
Cobol developers for a 6 month contract position at a major Canadian
bank in downtown Toronto, Canada. This contract may be open to
extension at the end of the term.

One of the banks is doing a major mainframe system switchover and they
need to convert from Cobol II to Enterprise Cobol.
Presently there are two positions available.

Junior/Intermediate Enterprise Cobol Developer - $25-$30hr (I know, its
not that good :) )
Cobol Technical Lead - $35-$45/hr
Start Date: last week of March

Required Experience
-Enterprise Cobol
-Cobol II
-OS390
-DB2, IMS
-JCL

Enterprise Cobol is a must. My client will not budge on this issue.
If anyone is interested in getting in the major banks or knows someone
who is, please get in touch with me. Start date is last week of March,
2006.

Hmm, not quite sure why they'd need a contractor to "convert" from COBOL II
to Enterprise COBOL. Just recompile the programs with E-COBOL and you're
done! Unless I am missing something...

Still, I guess it would be easy work for some hard up contractor. :-)

The COBOL itself is probably trivial if they are using 1985 syntax
(NOCMPR2 option) but the switching to Language Environment could be
tricky. They also may be wanting to make some changes in CICS
handling. If the job were in Halifax, Nova Scotia I might be
interested.
