What generally is easier, from COBOL, would it be fujitsu cobol, cobol

when you are desperate for info it's hard to be eloquent.

I'm guessing this is IBM COBOL they're coming from? It's either Fujitsu or Micro Focus that has specific IBM migration facilities, and compatibility modes you can set to mimic the little intricacies of IBM COBOL. (I've never used them, but I've heard others discuss them here, and I've had them advertised to me - I think it was Micro Focus and their .NET Express product.)

If anybody has any ideas then I will personally get down on my knees
and pray for them to go to heaven. I am an old school gal being forced
to learn this new junk in 2-4 months on my own. I can't even get these
morons to buy me a book. At least they haven't restricted google yet!

Heh - the Internet is a good research tool. If you have a few more details, I'm sure the folks here will have lots of good advice for you. (And you don't even have to pray to get it!) :) Personally, most all my experience has been with Unisys mainframes.
