Re: TSQ/TDQ purpose?

I have deleted all the comments (some of which were very useful/interesting) and
just wanted to mention that for those on z/OS (sorry about that Frank <G>), you
might want to look at "channels" available with CICS TS 3.1. Although targeted
at "greater than 32K commareas", I think they might also be useful for some of
what historically went into TSQ/TDQ.

They may also be useful for those getting into XML - as they provide
"auto-magic" UTF (Unicode) conversion facilities.

NOTE:
I have no personal experience with them, but did think they look interesting.
