I opened it, hit options, an unchecked "Start Windows Messenger when
Windows starts."


For Office 2003 with Windows XP Pro...

1. Open it. (Can do this from the icon on the toolbar by double clicking).
2. Options>Preferences
3. Uncheck "Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts."

It will be gone when you reboot.
