Salary Question

I'm a COBOL programmer with 16 years of experience working on various
platforms like IBM mainframes, AS/400, AIX, Microfocus with a lot of
cross-platform development experience. After 14 years with my last
employer, which was a package software developer, I was laid off due to
lack of development work and the company's unwillingness to retrain me
for web development.
Not having looked for a job, nor keeping up with the trends, I have no
idea what current salary trends are for COBOL development. What I need
to know is if my salary from my last employer is considered high, low
or average. I work in the Philadelphia region. I was getting about
80K per year from my last employer. There seems to be a number of
companies in my area looking for COBOL programmers and I have some
offers on the table, but they are a bit lower than my last salary,
being in the 72-74K range. Was I overpaid at my last job, or are they
lowballing me?
