From the same site:All of this is of some interest to me, because Indianapolis' own Fort
Benjamin Harris, the DFAS facility, was to have picked up some of this
work, but as of now, all seems pretty "quiet", and nobody knows if the
"promised" jobs will ever materialize.
Fort Benjamin Harris is 'the DFAS facility'? I'd been lead to believe
that they (DFAS) were out of Pensacola, FL... and as anyone of a Certain
Age in a Certain Society knows, 'Pensacola, it's the spot!'

Fort Benjamin Harrison is still one of the 5 centers.
Learn something new every day... Pensacola is only a Network Site, folks
down there behave like they are the Center of the Universe... well, they
did that until word came down that their Site is being folded up into
operations with Cleveland.
I spent a week or two there selling/installing some data entry equipment
in the 80's. I lived in the area before, and it was a nice visit!
I recall saying something about South Bend, IN, a while back... ahhhh,
there it is,

I spent some time in South Bend on contract and i found it to be a sad
town. In the Neighborhood Local I frequented (The Ewing Cafe... what a
dive!) folks would suck down some suds and reminisce about the Goode Olde
Dayse, when all the businesses were running... Studebaker, South Bend Tool
& Die, the mighty names of yore... back in the mid 1950's and it has been
downhill ever since.
(This was my standard for Sad City Stories until I spent time on a
contract in Wilkes-Barre, PA... where folks would reminisce about the
Goode Olde Dayse when all the coal-mines were running... back in the mid
1920's.)
